Do lashes really make a difference?

By adding volume to your natural lashes, eyelash extensions will instantly give your eyes a spectacular look, making them appear larger and brighter, and giving you a more youthful look overall. Putting on makeup is quite time consuming, especially when you consider eye makeup. If you really care for them (more on that later), eyelash extensions can last six to eight weeks until they fall out naturally, as your eyelashes usually do. However, once they start to fall off, you can go back and ask your eyelash stylist to fill in the missing pieces.

So, technically, you can make your extensions last indefinitely. Anything on your eyelids or eyelashes could affect the result of your extensions, so be sure to wash your face beforehand. Your eyelashes can get tangled when you sleep or shower, so brush gently with a clean brush when you wake up, after showering, and at the end of the day. For people with oily skin and oily eyelids, Phillips recommends using eye shadow bases to absorb excess oil and prevent it from seeping into the eyelash line.

Some scientists believe that if eyelashes have any real function, it is to diffuse airflow that could threaten to dry out the eyeball, and that their length is generally determined in relation to the size of the eyeball itself and not to the gender of the mammal to which they belong.

Eyelash

extensions have become increasingly popular because of their ability to add volume and length to natural eyelashes. Usually, simple or classic eyelashes mean that there is a single extension attached to a single natural eyelash. On the one hand, the presence of healthy eyelashes can be a sign of general health; several diseases, disorders and congenital conditions can cause eyelash loss (sometimes referred to as milfosis or madarosis).

However, there is a very small risk of developing traction alopecia, says Dr. Zaina Al-Mohtaseb, adjunct professor of ophthalmology at Baylor School of Medicine in Houston, where natural eyelashes can fall out as a result of the consistent weight of repeated eyelash extensions. So why is it biologically so likely that long, fleshy eyelashes appear on a male body than on a female body fetishized as a specifically female trait? Similarly, the only facial difference between Robin Hood's incarnation at Disney and his female counterpart, Maid Marian, was, you guessed it, his black, fluttering eyelashes, and there's a multi-billion dollar industry based on the (strange) idea that when you add eyelashes to your car, you suddenly have a female car. Wetting eyelashes used to be a major obstacle, but Phillips explains that some current glue formulas allow exposure to water within 24 hours.

Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent eyelashes that are glued by hand to natural lashes, says Andra Marin, artistic director and expert eyelash stylist at Courtney Akai Lash Boutique in New York. Because eyelash extensions are used by millions today, women need products that are compatible with eyelash extensions. Other research with which LaFrance has discovered, dating back about 50 years, suggests that women tend to blink more slowly than men, a habit that soft, fluttering eyelashes would accentuate. Other eyelash curlers heat up, which can help increase curling capacity and provide an even greater difference.
